Week 9 | Summary
This week, I experimented with different leg-kicking techniques in DNF training. While faster kicks and stronger strokes increased speed, they drained energy and made me less comfortable. A new rhythm with one arm stroke and two kicks felt smooth, but the 25m pool limited its potential.
This week, I decided to explore different leg-kicking techniques in my DNF (Dynamic No Fins) training to see how adjustments could impact my performance (read more on leg kicking in DNF). Normally, my rhythm for a 50m dive in a 25m pool feels natural and efficient, taking me about 53 seconds in total. I rely on a long glide that covers almost half the pool after my initial push-off, followed by two arm strokes paired with two leg kicks. This setup is smooth and energy-efficient, and I’ve grown to love the feeling of gliding through the water with minimal effort.
